So Have Faith

I found Scrap That Poetry's site while surfing the net one fine day. Their current challenge is to create a layout inspired by Emily Dickenson's poem, "There Is Another Sky" here. It turned out to be an even finer day for me because I had just the perfect photo for the poem! :D

I took that photo last April at my relatives' farm-cum-resort in rural Tanay, Rizal province. The trail of trees leads up to a hill with a beautiful view and a gazebo on top. :)

I also googled about Emily Dickenson's poem to know what inspired her to create it. From what I gathered, it's a poem she wrote for her brother, Austin, and she used nature to tell him not to lose hope, that there is another sky, another sunshine, another beautiful day.

So while creating my layout, looking at my photo and analyzing E. Dickenson's poem, I came up with the title "...So Have FAITH" because the poem, this time, reminds ME to remain positive and strong despite life's trials, always hope and pray because God gives us another beautiful day... so have FAITH. :)

Lastly, I am also entering this in XOXO's challenge #12 here. Scraplifted Ana White's LO.

Here are some close-ups of my layout and details:
Hand-cut the florals of Webster's Pages patterned paper

Emily Dickenson's poem as the journaling detail. I distressed the edges using Tim Holtz alcohol ink (red).

These pretty rosettes used to be white, but to blend with the patterned paper, I misted it with Glimmer Mist (red shade) and applied Jo Sonja gold dust. Loooove it!!!!

Another rosette on the right side of the LO. The borders of the inner cardstock were created with Martha Stewart edge punch and distressed with Tim Holtz distressing ink in peeled paint.

Have a Blessed Sunday and TFL!
