3 LOs for a Long Weekend

Hi there! We're enjoying the 4th and last day of the long weekend due to the Eid'l Fitr (yesterday) and a local hero's death anniversary (today). It's back to school for my toddler and back to work for me.

Besides lazing around, enjoying the 4-day holiday, I was finally able to finish and take pictures of the 3 LOs that were part of Iris Babao-Uy's July 28 class at our LSS. Here they are:

Kissable Lips

Hey, I'm back with another layout! Well, I was actually busy these past weeks creating a mini-album for the Grap-a-Swap challenge of PinoyScrapbookers group in Facebook. I cannot post it yet because the full reveal is not until August 19th.

So I'm featuring this LO first, which is 1 of 4 LOs from the class conducted by Iris Babao-Uy at our local LSS last July 28. I made some alterations from her original LO because I was unable to attend the class so I don't have some of the materials used there.

Here are a few close-ups:

Lovely, lovely Dustic Attic chipboard! :)

Flower cut-outs and bird die-cut:

Ribbon lace misted with Glimmer Mist. I also applied Jo Sonja's opal dust but its not visible on the picture.

That's it! Have a happy weekend!

Birthday Card for Mom

My mother will celebrate her 65th birthday next month and I decided to make a special hand-made card for her. :)

This was my last creation out of Crate Paper's Random collection kit. I was able to make 6 layouts and 5 cards. Lovely!!!

Three-layered flowers of Prima, with a brad on the center. I outlined mini-dots on the biggest flower using Ranger liquid pearl in baby blue. The outer portions of the card were also applied with liquid pearls in gold and white opal. The top flower, on the other hand, was inked using Ranger distressing ink in tumbled glass.

The "65th" chipboards were first applied with gesso. They actually had a design that didn't fit my card, so I covered it up with gesso. Then I embossed them in yellow embossing powder, sprayed with Maya Road's iridescent pearl mist and dried with heat gun.

Lastly, my ever fave Martha Stewart monarch butterfly punch as added accent to my card.

Have a blessed Sunday. :)

Cards for Mother's Day

Mother's day is still four months away but I felt the designs I was able to create on these cards make them perfect for that occasion.

As promised in my previous post, here are the hand-made cards that I made out of the scraps from Crate Paper's Random kit which we used in our LSS class held last November 2011.

Flowers, also hand-crafted
Hey, take a look at my DIY flowers! I got the inspiration from Vicky's flower tutorials. Check out her blog! She has lots of flower tutorials on the right sidebar.

Detailed paper cutting
Crate's Random papers had lots of designs that I decided to "fussy" cut them, such as this beautiful bird...

...and the red, pink, orange and white flowers in various sizes.

Notice the pink butterflies above? I speckled them with Jo Sonja gold dust. Love the effect!

That's it for today. Enjoy the rest of the week!

2 More LOs from the Crate Random Class

Hello again! Yahoo! I finally finished the last 2 layouts from our Crate Random class conducted by Iris last November 2011. Here they are... Tadaaa! :))

Happy Times

Sweet Bliss

Look at that: layers of lovely flowers.

And this one, wood veneer butterfly from Studio Calico, that I dressed up with gold blings. Oh so cute!

Lastly, we played around with UTEE, stamp and gold perfect pearls. I added that bird chipboard which I painted with acrylic paints, topped with clear rock candy and silver bling for the eye.

There were still lots of papers and embellies left from the kit, so I was able to create some more. Not layouts anymore, but.......

Oh well, just wait for my next post. Hehe. :D

Gotta go!

Hello 2012. Hello 4 New LOs.

Happy New Year! 2011 was another wonderful and blessed year. Despite life's trials, we all have a lot to be thankful for. Don't you agree? :D

Here's starting my 2012 with four LOs from the Crate Paper Random class of Iris Babao-Uy held last November. Yes, it took me that long to finish the 4 out of 6 LOs. Hehehe!

Anyway, here they are and I'm just so happy I was able to find time to enjoy my fave hobby once again.

Sweet and Adorable

The fourth LO is a scrap-craft new year's resolution of mine: to create more pages of myself! :))

Moms

I need to make this a quick post. So many things to do, so little time.

Here's another layout that I made for Sketchy Thursdays' 9.1 challenge:

That's a photo of me with my sister-in-law and sister. We are all carrying our first-borns at the time this was taken, which was during my nephew Brian's 2nd birthday in 2009.

Patterned papers and chipboard used for this layout are all from Crate Paper's Restoration line. Flowers, swirl blings and fabric alphas from Prima. Pins from Maya Road and Jillibean Soup. Maya Road metal clip. Glitz Design stamp. Tim Holtz Distress inks. Glimmer mist. Kraft and white cardstocks.

That's it.

Have a great week!

Family: A DIY Mini-Album

I attended another class of Iris last January 22 and we created a canvas mini-album using Crate's Restoration papers and embellishments.

The participants also got to learn how to use structuring medium on masks to create a more dimensional layout, you couldn't resist running your fingers on the page! :)

The canvas mini-album is from Maya Road.

We played with gesso, structuring medium on Prima mask, TA Glimmer and Maya Road mists, Ranger embossing powders, Tim Holtz distress ink and stickles, Kaisercraft rub-ons, flowers from Prima and Bo Bunny, Jenni Bowlin bingo card, brads, ribbons/ricrac/trims, and of course, Crate Papers' Restoration patterned papers and embellishments. Whew! :D

Precious

Totally enjoyed the Crate Restoration class by Iris Babao-Uy, which was held last January 22. We made a mini-canvas album and a 12x12 layout. I'm done with both! Hahaha. :D

Anyway, here's the layout which we duplicated from Iris' but using our own photo. It's a girly LO so it's Louise, my niece, who's my subject this time.

In the class, we were taught how to use structuring medium on masks to make it even more dimensional. Look at how a plain chipboard bird and Prima mask was transformed with the application of the structuring medium, distress inks and gold dust!

This corner was created with the use of Prima masks and Maya Road mist:

This body form with florals were cut from Webster's Pages Sweet Season patterned paper:

I'm going to feature the mini-canvas album next!

Have a great week ahead!
