I'm Back.... with a Card :D

So sorry to have neglected my blog... again! I also haven't scrapped nor created anything for more than a month. The new house is still taking much of my time, plus, my company has also moved to its new office building last month as well.

Anyway, I was able to create this card last Saturday but was only able to take a photo today. It's a simple and fast one, just so I would be able to satisfy my desire to create something! LOL My mom also used up all my previous Christmas card creations so I need to replenish my stock. Hahaha!

I was also able to fit into my schedule the Crate Random workshop by Iris at our LSS. I'll post my LOs asap. Promise! :D

Materials used: DCWV white and green cardstocks, Prima flowers, Pink Paislee stamp, Fancy Pants patterned paper, Ranger stickles (holly), Ranger distress ink, Tsukineko ink, gold string.

Happy News

Eek! I've been gone for quite some time again! The happy news? They're actually double happy news! First, we already moved in to our very own home! Yup, yup. I've been soooo busy arranging, unpacking, shopping stuff for the house. Next, my circle card (see previous post) won!!! I can't wait to receive the latest Christmas collection pack of Nikki Sivils' Gingerbread Land!!! Yahoo!!!

Thinking of You (Card)

I read about the latest challenge at the blog of one of my fave scrapbooking brands, Nikki Sivils, and of course, I participated. :D

The challenge, scrap a size you don't normally scrap.

Instead of the usual layout, I created a card. A circle-shaped card! :D

Now, my usual cards' sizes are either square or rectangle. So this one's truly a first! :D

I used the following NS products: patterned papers from Blueberry Hill, We Are Family and Beatrice collections; journaling spot, warm cord brad and burlap button.

Other materials used are white cardstock, local lace and leaves, AAS wooden butterfly and craft wire, Ranger liquid pearl, stickles and distress inks, Martha Stewart puncher, chipboard frame, acrylic paint and hand-made lace flowers.

The two white lace flowers with green brad in the center are my hand-made creations, by the way. :D

In addition, the three-layered flowers (light orange, violet, dark orange) were among the pack of flowers that I won during a Nikki Sivils scrapbook class held in our LSS, Lasting Impressions. This prize, according to NS DT Ria Mojica, came from Nikki herself. So, in a way, this 3-layered flower also makes it a NS product. Hehehe. :D

A close-up on the sentiment, "Thinking of You." I created this card for my bestfriend, Rowena, who's currently based in Bangkok, Thailand, for her birthday this coming October 29th. I hope she receives this in the mail in time!

Before I end this post, please notice the little beaver inside the frame. I just find her sooo cute. LOL

That's it! Gotta go!

Enjoy the weekend. :)

Grow

Hope everyone's having a happy Sunday! :D

Just discovered the ScrapFIT challenge blog through a local scrapbook group in Facebook, as well as their Workout #53 challenge.

I placed my journaling in my "Grow" layout of my little boy around the Tattered Angels stencil. Journaling reads: Wear your big smile. Play what you want to play. Be as happy as you can be.

Materials used: WEBSTERS PAGES: patterned papers, diecut stickers. PRIMA: patterned papers. TATTERED ANGELS: glimmer mist, stencils. Others: chipboard alphas.

Thanks as always! :D

When I Look Through the Lens, I See Life

This turned out to be another sentimental layout. I love it when I get to blend all the scrapbook items as well as the photos, to complement each other. :D

It's the first time that I used a quote for a long title. This was taken from Technique Tuesdays Ali Edwards stamp collection.

I used Get Picky's September sketch challenge #12:

Our family photo was taken last April 2011. Little boy looked adorable even if he wasn't looking directly at the cam. The photographer's assistant tried in vain to make him smile. Hahaha. :D

As always, I took some close-up shots to showcase the techniques I applied in creating the layout.

Layers, layers, layers!
Look at that! Lovely layers of fussy cut patterned paper,
clustered together and further accentuated with Zva Creative crystals.

Dustic Attic bodyform chipboard
painted with white acrylic paint and Golden coarse pumice gel.
Look at that texture. Love it!

Prima swirl stencil sprayed with
Ranger blue perfect pearls mist
to fill up the upper right and lower left corners.

Materials are all from Scrap That's "Romantic Spring" May 2011 kit.

Additional embellishments: Kaisercraft metal key, Creative Imaginations metal word sentiment, Shabby Green Door baker's twine, Maya Road pearl pins, Technique Tuesdays quote stamp, Webster's Pages floral whimsy, acrylic paint, coarse pumice gel.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to submit this in time for the deadline. Totally forgot about it and was soooo busy with lots of stuff. Oh well. Hahaha! :D

However, I am entering this in Scrapbookers Anonymous' various challenges for the month of September, as follows:

1. Main challenge: chipboard
2. Birthday mini-stash challenges: long title, bling-bling and stamping! Wee!!! :D

I'd like to thank Lea for posting her comment and informing me about the above challenges. :D

Lastly, this LO is totally a 101% labor of love.

TGIF!

One Fine Day

Here's a layout that I created based on Stuck?! Sketches' September 1st challenge. I love the outcome so much! Mr. Creative Mojo stayed with me the whole time I was making this page of my hubby and son. :D

The sketch challenge below:

Featuring some close-up shots.

Moms

I need to make this a quick post. So many things to do, so little time.

Here's another layout that I made for Sketchy Thursdays' 9.1 challenge:

That's a photo of me with my sister-in-law and sister. We are all carrying our first-borns at the time this was taken, which was during my nephew Brian's 2nd birthday in 2009.

Patterned papers and chipboard used for this layout are all from Crate Paper's Restoration line. Flowers, swirl blings and fabric alphas from Prima. Pins from Maya Road and Jillibean Soup. Maya Road metal clip. Glitz Design stamp. Tim Holtz Distress inks. Glimmer mist. Kraft and white cardstocks.

That's it.

Have a great week!

Cutie

Another LO completed! Woohoo! :D

This one's for Sketchy Thursdays' 8.18 sketch challenge:

I used up the remaining stash of My Little Yellow Bicycle's Snugglebug collection, with additional papers from Twig collection, also from MLYB.

These are photos of my little boy when he was just two-and-a-half months old! :)

As always, here are some close-ups:

Have a great week ahead!

No More?

Ugh! I've been gone from blogging and scrapping for three weeks! So much work in the office and personal responsibilities at home. On the happy side, I got to enjoy another hobby of mine... cooking! Hhmmm... I think I'll make this a cooking and scrapping blog! :D

Anyway, I finally got to create a layout last week but was only able to post it here today. It's for Scrapbookers Anonymous' August challenge, to use your stash of journaling blocks. I love their challenges because it helps me use up my scrapbook stash materials. We tend to forget what we currently have, what with the yummy new ones coming to the market. Hehehe.

I was able to use up all my October Afternoon Farm Fresh journaling blocks. Yehey! A total of nine (9) for this LO.

Four journaling blocks on the top portion:

Five on the lower right portion:

These are photos of my little boy trying to look for more caramel popcorns. But alas, he had competition from Mommy and Daddy that's why it was gone in a flash. LOL.

Close-up on the blings on the center of the flowers that I placed randomly:

Some more close-ups:

Happy weekend! :D

Featured in Prima

Yehey! My "I Do" layout submitted for Prima's June BAP was among the chosen faves! To be included among those they considered as "stunning" submissions is more than enough to make me giddy with happiness. Let's face it. It's PRIMA! :))

Here's my LO again:

Have a fun weekend!

Soda Can Coin Bank

Converted and recycled two soda cans into a coin bank for my son's school activity.

As to the soda itself, well, I didn't drink it. I've been maintaining a "no carbonated drinks" for several months now, so I gave it to my Dad! LOL! :D

Anyway, here's a pic of the cans before I altered it. I carved an opening on both tops of the cans before I joined them together. I used the remaining scraps of Bella Blvd. papers in my stash, along with ribbons, ricrac, blings, buttons, acrylic paint, MS deco puncher.

Here's the finished product. I used glue gun to merge the cans into one.

This is the side portion where I positioned the ribbon. I don't want it to be too feminine, as it's for my son, but just with a hint that it was made by Mommy. :D

Happy Sunday! :D

Yipee! I thoroughly enjoyed the Webster's Pages class taught by WP DT lead, Iris Babao-Uy held last July 2, 2011 at our LSS, Lasting Impressions.

We used the latest WP products, namely: Yacht Club, Spring Market and Ladies and Gents collections. I added a few more WP stuff that I had, such as the princess petals, designer thread, whimsy heart and whimsy flower.

Here are my layouts:
