Just Chillin'

Hello! I'm back with another Nikki Sivils Scrapbooker "Summer" collection layout, this time using a sketch from Get Picky's January Sketch Challenge #16:

Banners are back! I honestly can't get enough of creating these lovelies, tied together with twine and NSS burlap buttons. :D

My journaling detail, with ribbon twine and NSS warm cord brads in brown.

Lastly, I used NSS Tree Love alpha stickers for the title and another NSS green cord brad as accent for the camera. :D

Cheers! :D

When I Look Through the Lens, I See Life

This turned out to be another sentimental layout. I love it when I get to blend all the scrapbook items as well as the photos, to complement each other. :D

It's the first time that I used a quote for a long title. This was taken from Technique Tuesdays Ali Edwards stamp collection.

I used Get Picky's September sketch challenge #12:

Our family photo was taken last April 2011. Little boy looked adorable even if he wasn't looking directly at the cam. The photographer's assistant tried in vain to make him smile. Hahaha. :D

As always, I took some close-up shots to showcase the techniques I applied in creating the layout.

Layers, layers, layers!
Look at that! Lovely layers of fussy cut patterned paper,
clustered together and further accentuated with Zva Creative crystals.

Dustic Attic bodyform chipboard
painted with white acrylic paint and Golden coarse pumice gel.
Look at that texture. Love it!

Prima swirl stencil sprayed with
Ranger blue perfect pearls mist
to fill up the upper right and lower left corners.

Materials are all from Scrap That's "Romantic Spring" May 2011 kit.

Additional embellishments: Kaisercraft metal key, Creative Imaginations metal word sentiment, Shabby Green Door baker's twine, Maya Road pearl pins, Technique Tuesdays quote stamp, Webster's Pages floral whimsy, acrylic paint, coarse pumice gel.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to submit this in time for the deadline. Totally forgot about it and was soooo busy with lots of stuff. Oh well. Hahaha! :D

However, I am entering this in Scrapbookers Anonymous' various challenges for the month of September, as follows:

1. Main challenge: chipboard
2. Birthday mini-stash challenges: long title, bling-bling and stamping! Wee!!! :D

I'd like to thank Lea for posting her comment and informing me about the above challenges. :D

Lastly, this LO is totally a 101% labor of love.

TGIF!

Scrap That January Kit: Treasure These Moments (Part 1)

Yes, I finally got to scrap again! Woohoo!

Here's my first creation out of Scrap That's January "Don't Stop The Carnival" kit. Yes, I know, I am that late! LOL.

Oh, I fell so much in love with this kit! My hands are still itching to create some more, but alas, we're going out-of-town for the long weekend.

All materials are from the kit, except the little pink flowers, Hambly transparency, corrugated board and ribbon laces.

I am also entering this in Get Picky's April Sketch Challenge #7:

Here are some close-up shots and details of the layout:

I cut out the banner and used it on this LO. I also added some ribbon flowers as accents to the bird cages.

Fussy cut this intricate design, added a butterfly, Hambly transparency and created the frilly lace on top.

I looove Judikins Diamond Glaze! I first sprayed the bodyform chipboard with glimmer mist, then topped it with the glaze. It was like watching it magically transform the chipboard!

Finally, I was so happy with the result of my clustering effort for these embellishments:

That's it! Gotta pack for tomorrow's R&R!

Thanks for the love! :)

Cute Boy

Good morning! Hope everyone had a wonderful Christ-filled Christmas! :)

Here's a post-Halloween layout of my little one in the penguin costume that he wore at my company's Trick or Treat event last October 29, 2010. The theme of our company TOT was animated animals in movies and the movie assigned to my department was Happy Feet. So my son wore a toddler penguin costume. It was such a fun occasion, not only for the employees but most especially for our kids! :)

I based this LO on Get Picky's sketch challenge #3 here.

Furthermore, the materials used in this LO are from Coordinates Collections October Black Magic kit, which I won in their October Blog Hop challenge.

Some close-ups and details:
Ain't my little boy a cutie in his penguin costume? Yes, indeed! LOL.

Furthermore, the purple patterned paper which I used as background really made the photos of my son stand out! :D

I had fun using Jillibean Soup's corrugated alphas (green) for my LO's title:

Very fortunate to have kept this paper cord in brown and violet intertwined colors! It complimented American Crafts' Boo purple polka-dotted patterned paper that I used as background.

Lastly, I had fun playing with the various embellishments that came with the kit, shown below.

TFL and only a few more days 'til 2011!!!

Listen

Hey, I'm on a "Nikki Sivils paper" roll!

This is my 3rd project using Nikki Sivils products and I used the Willow Bee collection on this LO of my niece. Well, I actually made 3 LOs out of this line. Sshhh! LOL.

Journalling reads: "The party started a bit late, but you waited patiently for the show to start. You were so behaved. You are such a sweet girl!"

Photo details: Louise at 2 years, 5 months. December 2009.

Based this on Get Picky's sketch challenge #2 here.

Some close-ups:
I love, love, love this quote stamp from Shabby Green Door's On the Wings of a Dream! This was where I was inspired to get the title "Listen" for my LO. Used plenty of double-sided foam tape for the cutie cut-ups, too.

My adorable niece, Louise Dominique.

We're enjoying a long weekend right now. No work tomorrow in celebration of a local hero's birthday.

TFL!
